19K Run Home from Spandau
For my last run of the spring training season, I got on my running gear and went with Gisi to the train station to see her off, and since the train was traveling through Berlin before heading out to West Germany anyway, I got on it and rode through town then hopped off at the Spandau train station and ran home from there, very fun. It was a nice comfortable run down through Berlin in cool early-spring weather. I wasn't sure how I was going to cross the congested traffic area near the ICC where the AVUS starts, couldn't quite make it out on Google earth but it turns out to be quite easy, there are sidewalks the whole way through to Königsallee where all the huge, nice houses and embassies are. Ended up as planned on Clay Allee, my legs felt great, totally strong at 2 hours, then took off down Königin-Luise-Straße enjoying a Beck's Green Lemon celebrating my last run of a successful spring marathon training season. I'll be in Paris Friday to meet some friends, enjoy the city, see some shows, then show up at Place de Charles de Gaulle on Sunday with 40,000 others to give it my all.
