2017 Berlin Half Marathon
This was Gisi's and my 6th half marathon together and probably the race with the best weather, about 17°C mostly cloudy during the race with warm sun at the finish, really perfect.

We met Frank and Simon and others at the S-Bahn, and then Thorsten at Potsdamer Platz, all well coordinated all the way to the starting line. Gisi and I started near the back of Block F this race, and so had the pleasure of passing people throughout the race.

While the Berlin Half Marathon is mostly straight-ahead stretches of streets with only a few curves, it's charm is that there are over 34,000 runners and since it is a half marathon, a wide variety of people run who are out there to mainly finish, which makes it a positive and fun atmosphere, with a constant stream of fans and bands playing.

Gisi had a 01:05:55 split at 10K and so I knew we were headed for a finishing time around her personal best (02:24:49) and picking up the pace a bit after 20K, we ended up beating it by 70 seconds, coming in with the 02:23:39, a very nice added bonus to an enjoyable race.
